The 2009 event was a huge success with over 16,200 people attending (and that's only counting those who came through the main gate, not the hundreds more streaming through the other entrances). It is now considered the largest vegetarian food festival in all of Midwestern United States.

We would like to thank all of those who participated and supported this event and intend to do it again in 2010.

It is our sincere prayer that through this effort we have provided a platform which has brought to light the many spiritual, physical, mental and social benefits of being vegetarian.

Please bring non-perishable vegetarian food to be distributed by People’s Resource Center

A blood bank van will be operating near the entrance each day.

2009 was our best year yet !

Two of Chicago’s nationally famous vegetarian restaurants presented food demonstrations at Veggie Fest: Chicago Diner, recipient of many awards, including one from the Vegetarian Times; and Karyn’s two restaurants, one serving raw and the other cooked food, featured on the Today Show just this past January 2009.

The Chicago Tribune called Veggie Fest Chicago 2008 the “best bet for the weekend.”

Healthy Dining wrote “I can’t say enough good things about it. . . If you missed it, mark your calendars for next year's event.”

And: 10,000 people and it never felt crowded.”
